Fishing in the Pays de Redon

A land of rivers
Within 10 km from the town of Redon, they are ten waterways coming together to join the waters of the Vilaine for a last journey heading towards the ocean.
Not one resembles another .
Some are natural, others canalised. One accommodates the boatman-come-fisherman, the other, the patient fisherman on the riverbank.

Fishing in Redon's area
The village of Rieux : A river for champions
The world freshwater fishing championship was organised in Rieux in 1996. 150 competitors came from 26 different nations and it was attended by 15,000 keen observers!

The championships on the River Vilaine
It has to be said that Rieux has many assets : A long straight stretch of water, well equipped riverbanks, beautiful landscapes... and an abundance of white fish.
The ancient Rieux Chateau and the Tranhaleux courses regularly host the French championships.
