2 renowned climbing sites
There are two major sites for rock climbing in the "Pays de Redon" : Saint Just and the "Ile aux Pies" (Magpie Island)

Near to the megalithic site
Surrounded by a splendid scenery and in close proximity to the 2 nd largest megalithic site in France, one comes across the "Etang du Val" rock face in the village of Saint Just.
This rock face measuring fifteen odd metres is perfect for rock climbing. It is accessible to all and consists of thirty odd lines graded from 3 to 6 b.

60 lines on both banks of the "Ile aux Pies"
The other significant rock climbing site is the "Ile aux Pies" in the Oust valley.
On the river Oust side stands the "Ile aux Pies" cliffs near to the Bains-sur-Oust camp site with a twenty metre high rock face accessible to all with around sixty lines from 3 to 6 b.
Qualified coordinators all year round by "la Fédé", a Redon based sports federation.

A beginner's climbing place
A scaling site has been set up on the other side of the river Oust at the old "Ile aux Pies" quarry (near the tow path in Saint-Vincent-sur-Oust). This fifteen metre rock face with around twelve lines is a perfect place for beginners.

Escalad'arbre - Tree climbing
Two equipped sites : The Bahurel woods in Redon and the "Pont d'Oust" in Peillac.
"La Fédé" (a Redon based sports federation) supplies qualified coordinators all year round.
