| An untamed landscape
The hillsides in the Arz valley set the tone of the Saint Jacut les Pins area with its superb peaks of shale and schist, and where windmills, pine trees and heath lands ornament the rocky hillsides each in their own manner and making the "Butte des 5 Moulins" one of the most "untamed" sites in the "Pays de Redon" region.

The river Arz : Untamed but peaceful
The river Arz which winds its way through the small valleys has nothing in common with the Oust which runs parallel for a few kilometres to the north. Here, there are no boats navigating the waters, to the delight of fishermen who find a wide variety of species including eels, pike, trout and ... silence!
For the pleasure of hikers
Hikers dominate the river as they follow the "Landes de Lanvaux" long-distance hiking trail (GR 38) which leads to Rochefort-en-Terre (a "Petite Cité de Caractère").
The Bodéan lakes...
An attractive place for picnicking with its small lakes, a 6km long walking trail leaving from the Bodéan lakes and also the setting for the municipal campsite.
... and the valley's beauty site
A picnic area with a lake which is dominated by a hill-face of pine trees and a setting off point for a 3km walk.
Way-marked posts indicate the trail from the village centre of Saint Jacut les Pins. |
