A refuge for flora and fauna
The Gannedel marshlands are situated at the confluence of the rivers Vilaine and Canut. This vast 500 hectares site, is a ornithological spot for migratory birds, and also a spawning bed for pike.

An important marsh in the Ille et Vilaine
The Gannedel fens act as a regulator for the river Vilaine's water level each winter. It is one of the largest stretches of marshland in the "Ille et Vilaine" county.

A place for discovering nature
Two trails allow one to get close to nature in its natural environment. "Rivière et Marais" is a walking circuit setting off from the church square in the village of La Chapelle de Brain. The other trail named "Les Landes" leaves from the village centre of Sainte Marie.
