| A port in the countryside
It's not quite a river but it's not the sea either, here one comes across river boatmen but also old sea dogs;- that's the Foleux marina! Here, the river Vilaine leaves the marshes and the riverbanks narrow to form an estuary leading to the sea.
The scenic road
Many stop-offs are proposed along the Vilaine's scenic route. It overlooks the marshes and offers superb vantage points over the twists and turns of the river Vilaine. |

Some ideas for outings
Five, 10 minute-1 hour long trips allow one to find out a little bit more about the sites which make up this grandiose landscape :
The Foleux marina : The valley becomes narrower, the Trévelo contributory joins the Vilaine river and the elegant loops disappear towards the sea...
The little St. Cado valley : A trip to this small valley as far as the little village on the water's edge is recommended.
The Rohello site : A peak on rocky heath-land jutting out towards the river Vilaine. From there one finds a trail with many viewpoints over the immense marshes...
The Béganne bell tower: Rare bats (Grands Murins) have founded one of their main colonies in Brittany...
The Champ Guy vantage point : From this superb vantage point one has a view over the entire valley...
