Viewpoints over the Vilaine river
Just as at the "Ile aux Pies" beauty spot where the river Oust has carved a passage through the granite, here, it's the river Vilaine which has hollowed out its bed in the Corbinières rock face and created a magnificent gorge.
The steep rocky slopes dominate the Vilaine valley offering superb view points.

The Corbinières Beauty site in Langon
One of the most beautiful viaducts in France
The Corbinières beauty site also has a historical interest with its viaduct striding over the Vilaine. At more than 30 metres high, it links the village of Langon to Messac. Finished in 1861, the Corbinières viaduct has the peculiarity of having oblique arches and figures amongst the most beautiful viaducts in France.

A colony of bats
The aesthetic harmony of its architecture is not the only thing that the Corbinières viaduct has in its favour. It also has a great interest regarding fauna; its pillars shelter a large colony of bats.
