In 2001, the Secretarary of State for Tourism created the "Tourism and handicaps" (Tourisme et Handicap) category for disabled people. This national category is symbolized by a logo representing a house and the four disabilities (motor, auditory, visual and mental).

The national category "Tourism and handicaps"

handicap-auditif accessibility for auditory disability

label-moteur accessibility for motor disability

label-visuel accessibility for visual disability

label-handicap-mental accessibility for mental disability

It aims to provide reliable information concerning the accessibility of tourist sites and facilities (accommodation, restaurants, leisure and holiday venues, tourist information offices...) for all four types of handicap. It takes into account the accessibility from the parking to the site itself. It aims to guarantee complete autonomy for disabled people during their holidays.
Each categorized site was the subject of an unspection to assess the site by two people representing both tourism and handicap, then ratified by a regional and national committee, leading to a 5 years endorsment.

The "Pays de Redon" Tourist Office has made provision for the 4 disabilities, therefore making it easier for you to plan and organize your holiday.
Also available at the reception desk:
  • A magnetic loop for use by the hearing-impaired,
  • A brochure of the "Pays de Redon" in larger print and in Braille.
  • For visitors to the town, the tourist office has put in place an audioguide with a detailed description for the visually impaired in french, as well as leaflets in Braille with pictures in relief allowing you to discover the heritage of Redon. These aids can be borrowed from the reception desk.
